IDLI SAMBAR/TIFFEN SAMBAR/SIDE DISH FOR IDLI DOSA AND PONGAL




Idly sambar recipe explained with step wise pictures. Sambar is one of my favorite healthy side dish for idly,dosa and pongal. My grandma is doing in small tiffen center in these sambar was favorite our customers. I am prepared with lots of vegetables and dal so its very healthy and tasty recipe.

 Main ingredients for fennel seeds and garlic its give superb smell and taste also not add any spicy powder [chilly powder,masala powder]to give spicy taste only the green chilies. Another special things its grind with mud pot we are already know about the mud pot cooking is so healthy and tasty i am happy to sharing the recipe surely try this recipe and enjoy it.

Ingredients

Brinjal - 5 numbers
Sow sow - 1 number
Tomato - 3 numbers
Onion - 3 numbers
Green chilly - 5 to 6 depends on the spicy
Curry leaves - small amount
Coriander leaves - small amount
Toor dal - 50 gm
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Fennel seeds - 1 tbsp
Garlic cloves - 10 cloves not peel off
Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
Oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp

Cooking Instructions

  1.  Cut the all vegetables in small pieces and put in the cooker to all veggies.
  2. Add toor dal,cumin seeds,Turmeric powder and add required amount of water.
  3. Close the cooker and put on the stove and done out after 3 whistle If you want half cooking the vegetables done with one whistle.
  4. After few minutes check the whistle stream down open the cooker then trans ware the mud pot. This pot was mostly used in spinach recipe grinding purpose.
  5. Next drain out the water and add salt per required amount.Grinding well turnout the paste then add the drain remain water in pot.
  6. Now sambar is ready next start with seasoning things for the sambar. Before to crushed the fennel seeds with garlic.Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds,curry leaves and crushed garlic fennel seeds till cook done then add the sambar.
  7. Just boiling the sambar turn off the stove don't over cook. Now add the asafoetida gives the good smell and now ready for the sambar.
  8. Now serve it.

Note : Don't over cook or boiling the sambar.

Cooking Instructions with pictures wise

Cut the veggies and add in cooker


Add cumin seeds and turmeric powder

Add toor dal

Add require amount water

Close the cooker put on the stove
    

                Cook done with after 3 whistle


  Cook done drain out the water


Grind well

Add remaining water

      Sambar is done


     Heat oil in a pan 

Crushed the garlic and fennel seeds


Add seasoning things

Now add sambar

After boiled add asafodieda and coriander leaves

Now serve it.
